THE ASSOCIATION
The Geneva Institute for Multipolarity

Ladies and Gentlemen,

The current events are changing the face of the old world and create before our eyes, a new reality. The old-fashioned multilateralism has collapsed due to endless struggles for hegemony, unilateral coercive sanctions and exclusion of many countries from the international stage. The aspirations for a new world order, polycentric, interdependent and more equitable, are growing. In a short time, much progress has been made, at a quiet but resolute pace.
That's why I think it's essential for advocates of a multipolar world aspiring to an equitable world to improve the economic, cultural and political cooperation of the countries of Asia, Africa, Middle East, Latin America and the West on an equal footing and non-predatory basis.
It is in this spirit that we are engaging peers from all walks of life, diplomatic and academic circles, media, business, cultural and sports leaders as well as governments and supporters of the multipolar cause and equitable economic development, to set up a "Multipolar Institute" in Geneva and other world cities. A network think tank on multipolarity should contribute to stimulate and disseminate the concept of multipolarity and the multipolar thinking within international organizations and NGOs that are supposed to defend multilateralism and represent the international community.
On the diplomatic front, a majority of countries are claiming for the restoration of a true multilateralism based on mutual respect in the spirit of the "Friends of the Charter of the United Nations".
The ground is ripe for the creation of an active think-tank capable of putting forward ideas and concrete proposals to advance the multipolar cause based on an equitable and sustainable economic, social and political development.
It's now time to enlarge this movement to constituencies all around the world to provide them with – and receiving from them – exciting ideas, relevant arguments, deep analyses, and provocative insights embodying the nascent multipolar world that we are aspire to and call for.
With sincere regards.
